ART CAPITAL, contemporary art under the nave of the Grand Palais

From February 12 to 16, 2020, more than 2,000 artists from France and abroad present their works.

A unique journey through today’s living art, the meeting place for the French and international artistic community.
ART CAPITAL was born in 2006 from the creation of a collective of four Salons, the Société des Artistes Indépendants, the Salon Comparaisons, the Salon of French Artists and the Salon of Drawing and Water Painting.
An essential annual event whose reputation is now acquired and which allows the exhibition of emerging or confirmed artists.
During 4 days, one can discover paintings, sculptures, engravings, photographs of very varied styles in total freedom and exchange with artists, lovers of contemporary art, gallery owners and collectors.
The Salon of French Artists has existed since 1667, created by Colbert for Louis XIV.
This year, it highlighted the marvelous Montmartre Museum, located in the charming setting of the Jardins Renoir, on the Butte, just behind the Sacré Coeur.
He presented, in particular, paintings by Suzanne Valadon, by Utrillo, posters from cabarets and shows from the past. From February 26 to September 6, 2020, the Museum pays tribute to Otto Freundlich, a German painter who pioneered abstraction.
The Comparisons Show presents 28 groups that correspond to sensibilities or trends in current art, confronting styles and techniques.
The Drawing and Water Painting Show exclusively presents paintings on paper and paper sculptures.
The Society of Independent Artists is an association formed in Paris in 1884, born of the desire of several artists to offer the public works of art rejected by the Paris Official Salon in complete independence from official institutions.

The Grand Palais is a very beautiful setting to present all these works with an intense light diffused by the immense glass roof.
Well organized, this Fair is attended by an always numerous, enthusiastic, passionate and warm public.
Last year, more than 40,000 visitors crossed the aisles of ART CAPITAL, astonished or seduced by creations overflowing with inventiveness and originality.
