Today, Tuesday, February 11, J David Dance is invited to a working lunch at the Elysée Palace by French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the artificial intelligence project during this two-day summit, where he has invited more than 4,500 people and more than 100 countries.

Emmanuel Macron receives American Vice President J.D. Vance for a working lunch this Tuesday on the sidelines of the second day of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit at the Grand Palais in Paris.

By sending several senior American officials to the Old Continent for this meeting, including J.D. Vance, Donald Trump is expected to keep the Europeans under pressure and create great uncertainty on many subjects, such as the conflict in Ukraine.

On the subject of tariffs, Emmanuel Macron called on Europeans to be ready to respond to these threats, during an interview recorded last Thursday and broadcast on Sunday on the American channel CNN.

« If you want Europe to invest more and engage in security and defense (…) I think it is in the interest of the United States not to attack Europe and not to threaten it with customs tariffs, » he continued.

J.D. Vance’s visit is one of the first official visits by American officials to Europe since Donald Trump took office on January 20.

During the two-day summit, French President Emmanuel Macron invited the deputy prime ministers and prime ministers to the Elysée Palace for a working lunch on collaboration for the new artificial intelligence project and partnerships between the invited states.

On Monday, the Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, ZHANG Guoqing, was invited, followed by the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos MITSOTAKIS and the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol PACHINIAN. to discuss the artificial intelligence project and the collaboration between its partners, but also the agreements between the States.

The artificial intelligence match is currently being played between the United States and China. But Emmanuel Macron wants to appear at the helm to ensure a prominent place for France and Europe. The casting of this summit co-chaired by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is therefore intended to be very prestigious.

The president was personally involved in the organization of this summit which allows him to return to the forefront. The Élysée Palace pulled out all the stops by inviting nearly 1,500 participants to the Grand Palais for two days: heads of state and government, business leaders, researchers and financiers who will debate the many questions raised by artificial intelligence.

Emmanuel Macron preferred the French “Plug, baby, plug” and highlighted the “low-carbon energy available” in France thanks to nuclear power to power the gigantic data centers that provide the computing power needed for AI.

After the first day of the summit, there was also a dinner with heads of state, governors and heads of artificial intelligence technology.

French President Emmanuel Macron insisted on Tuesday on the “need for rules” and a “framework of trust” to support the development of artificial intelligence, while the Trump administration warns against any regulation.

« We need to continue to advance international governance of artificial intelligence, » he said at the close of the World Summit on AI in Paris.

« Deep down, we believe in innovation, acceleration, investment, but we also want a trusted AI, an AI that recreates unity in the international community, » the Head of State insisted.

Emmanuel Macron called for a « trust framework » that guarantees « respect for privacy, » « creativity, » including copyright, and « avoids the use of artificial intelligence for mass control. »

For his part, US Vice President J.D. Vance warned against « excessive regulation » of AI that « could kill a booming industry. » This is his first international trip since Donald Trump took office at the end of January and announced « Stargate, » a $500 billion investment plan in artificial intelligence.

J D Vance came, he spoke and then he left the Grand Palais, without listening to the speeches of his counterparts: the first European steps of the American vice-president, J. D. Vance, struck the minds, Tuesday February 11, on the occasion of the Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In front of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who co-chaired the conference, the Republican immediately stated that « the United States is the leader in AI and intends to remain so ».

He then sounded the charge both against « censorship » on the part of authoritarian regimes, targeting China without naming it, but also against the Old Continent’s desire to regulate these booming technologies. All in the name of defending « prosperity » and « free speech », the unlimited freedom of expression dear to the Trump administration. The night before, during a dinner organized at the Elysée with the leaders and bosses present in Paris, the former senator from Ohio had not waited for dessert to slip away, even before the speech of the Chinese vice-premier.

For the first time held within the European Union, the Paris summit, attended by some 1,500 people, follows two others in South Korea and the United Kingdom.
