PARIS – French charity organization Soleil d’Enfance celebrated another milestone in its long-standing commitment to children and people with disabilities by donating its 242nd minibus during a special event held at the iconic Fouquet’s restaurant in Paris on June 7.
Founded in 1972 by Félix Marouani, Soleil d’Enfance has spent more than five decades raising funds to improve the daily lives of children with disabilities. The organization brings together figures from the worlds of entertainment, sports, media and culture to support projects that provide practical assistance to specialized institutions and associations.
The latest vehicle was donated to Au fil des saisons, a nonprofit organization based in Mougins, in the Alpes-Maritimes region of southern France.
Created in 2018 by specialized educators David Baume and Assad Dahmani, the association was established in response to a growing shortage of facilities and support services for young people and adults with disabilities in the region. While specialized institutions exist, many face significant capacity challenges and are unable to accommodate all those in need.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization continued supporting families and vulnerable individuals, receiving exceptional authorization and backing from local authorities due to the essential nature of its work.
The newly donated 18-seat minibus will help improve transportation services, allowing educators to provide more individualized support and facilitate access to educational, recreational and social activities.
Several public figures attended the ceremony, including Valérie Kaprisky, Sophie Darel, Silvia Manuel, Marc Goldefer and Sonia Philouze, alongside representatives of Au fil des saisons.
More than a symbolic gesture, the donation highlights the importance of community-driven initiatives and long-term commitment to inclusion. With 242 minibuses delivered over 54 years, Soleil d’Enfance continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families across France.
