The French men’s ice hockey team earned their second consecutive win at the 2025 4 Nations Tournament, defeating Norway 2-0 on Friday, November 7, in Épinal. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored the opening goal, while goaltender Martin Neckar recorded a shutout.

The ceremonial faceoff was given by Olympic and Paralympic medalists Astrid Guyart, Julien Mertine, Djélika Diallo, and Zakia Khudadadi, setting the tone for a great atmosphere at Poissompré. Despite an early penalty, the French defense held firm, with Neckar making eight saves, including a key stop against Markus Vikingstad.

France created danger on a power play, with Bellemare testing Markus Stensrud, the Norwegian goalie. Later, Flavian Dair also came close, but the first period ended scoreless.

Norway started strong in the second period with two power plays, but Neckar stayed solid. Jordann Perret missed a key chance on a breakaway, and Yohann Auvitu’s long shot was stopped. The second period ended still 0-0 after a tight battle.

In the final frame, France pushed harder. Jordann Perret intercepted a pass and set up Bellemare, who scored into an open net (1-0; 48:24). In the final minute, Aurélien Dair sealed the win with an empty-net goal (2-0).

With this result, France confirms its great form in Épinal and now targets a perfect 3-for-3 record against Hungary on Saturday at 7:30 PM.
