The French men’s ice hockey team kicked off the 4 Nations Tournament with an impressive 3-1 victory over Denmark.

From the start, Florian Chakiachvili, positioned at a tight angle, was the first to take a shot on goal in this Olympic preparation clash. A few minutes later, Charles Schmitt made a defensive highlight by clearing the puck in front of a Danish attacker.

By the tenth minute, the French created multiple scoring opportunities. Dylan Fabre set up Jordann Perret, but the shot didn’t convert. Shortly after, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare’s shot hit the post. On the third attempt, Jordann Perret scored on the rebound from a shot by Yohann Auvitu (1-0; 9:13).

Floran Douay then received a minor penalty, leaving the French shorthanded at 4-on-5, yet the team continued to dominate with opportunities created by Perret to Bellemare and a shot from Addamo. With 13 shots to 5, the French went into the first intermission with a deserved lead.

At the restart, Sacha Treille narrowly missed a second goal off a low pass from Douay. The French pressure continued with Jules Boscq and Guillaume Leclerc testing the Danish goalie. Julian Junca made key saves, including a shot from Danish captain Jesper Jensen Aabo and a long-range shot by Blichfeld during a 6-on-5 advantage.

The second goal finally came before the break: Dylan Fabre capitalized on a scramble to score (2-0; 39:32). After several penalties, both teams returned to the locker rooms.

Early in the second period, the French scored again: Bellemare recovered the puck near the net and set up Jordann Perret, who scored in the top corner (3-0; 40:11). Denmark responded with a late goal by Markus Lauridsen (3-1; 53:58), but the French held firm until the final buzzer.

With this 3-1 victory over the world’s 11th-ranked team, coach Yorick Treille’s men made a perfect start to the 4 Nations Tournament. The French team will face Norway tomorrow at 8:45 PM for their next match.
