Lucian fulfills man’s dream of becoming a fashionable gangster

Lucian Popescu takes inspiration from the fashion of the 1920s, and aligns it with today’s fashion, but with an authentic and quite well put together style.

The year 1920 marked the era of Prohibition and the rise of nightclubs, speakeasies and notorious gangsters like Al Capone. Overall, there has been a huge change from previous decades, not only in society but also in fashion. Since fashion reflects this era, it’s no surprise that men’s styles have started to highlight these changes.

By the early 1920s, however, styles had become more casual than ever. More and more clothing manufacturers with softer fabrics and slightly looser cuts. Formal clothing became more diverse, elegant and sumptuous, although it remained functional. Elite men still wore tailored suits as before, but there were several notable changes.

Today we understand why the designer Lucian Popescu was attracted to fashion in the 1920s, and brought insight and rehabilitation to the life of men’s fashion. Much of men’s fashion after World War I was influenced by the rise of gangsters. This included the notorious Peaky Blinders, a street gang from Birmingham, England, who made many iconic styles such as three-piece suits and flat caps fashionable. As we can see today in the light of Lucian Popescu’s masculine creative reflections on updating fashion from the era of Al Pacino or Peaky Blinders.

Tweed caps, flat hat styles like newsboy and ivy caps. Newsboys and similar sports caps were generally flexible because they did not have a stiff brim. Lucian brings the 1920s back to life in the vision of the 21st century, bringing fashion up to date.
