The Gunwood Trio occurred in concert with the Plan with Laugh–Orangis in the Essonne on May 2nd, 2018.
Gunwood, composed of Gunnar Ellwanger, the guitar and voice, to Joao Francisco says Preto to low, harmonica, and percussions like David Jarry–Lacombe with the battery. Gunwood is a trio of folk rock‘n‘roll based in Paris, their adventure started in 2013 around the music of Gunnar Elwanger, leader of the trio.
In 2014, Gunwood outlines a first own–produced EP (Gunwood circle). Environment drew there already towards the folk one, but as Gunnar (guitar, voice) explains it: “It was a first phase of search for sound and arrangements.
“The artist speaks about travel and the perpetual change of the life”.
Their music takes as a starting point the Ireland in the American West, of the rock‘n‘roll to the blues, folk with the country. Their compositions are largely influenced by the music American, rock‘n‘roll, folk, blues, but also by folk Irish. The trio proposed beautiful ballades and strong moments of rock‘n‘roll, blues.
Gunwood emphasizes all that America did of better. With an energy rock‘n‘roll and a side West Coast reinforced by vocal harmonies of the most beautiful effect. Quite beautiful melodies, poetry…
Their first album “Dolly Drunk” invites the public to a musical trip to the multiple inspirations.
The Gunwood Trio is currently in round with its first album “Drunk Dolly”, produced by Zamora Label and Productions with the Ferber Studios.
