Château de Bran opens a walk-in Covid vaccination center for those who wish to be vaccinated while traveling. The vaccination will take place over the weekend, for a month, with the help of a mobile medical team.
“Unforgettable Vaccination! Now let’s move on to Bran Castle! Show courage and responsibility, you will be expected in Bran for the next 100 years,” is the message posted on RO Vaccinare’s facebook page.

“We are tourists. I heard on the radio that it was done without an appointment and I said to get vaccinated now, here, ”said a young tourist. “It was very fast,” he says enthusiastically. « This way more people can be vaccinated, because there is no more programming and they continue to visit the castle, » he adds.
“I was in the area and when I saw that you could come like that, without an appointment, directly, I came and it took very little. It was a very good experience, ”confirms a young man.
Dracula has something to be jealous of: hundreds of people crowded this weekend in front of “his” Bran castle for an injection, seduced not by his charm but by the possibility of being vaccinated against the Covid-19.
A visit to the « torture room » sheltered by this fortress, the foundations of which were laid by the Teutonic Knights in 1211, is also planned for these « reckless ». Nestled in a misty Carpathian valley, Bran Castle is associated with 15th-century Romanian bloodthirsty prince Vlad Tepes (« The Impaler ») – who inspired Irish writer Bram Stoker to play Dracula.
The vaccination will be done with the mobile medical team, composed of two doctors, four nurses and three clerks, without an appointment, and the opening hours of the center are Friday (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Free parking is available to beneficiaries, in the immediate vicinity of the building.

The marketer hopes the restrictions will be lifted when a sufficient percentage of the population is vaccinated. « To give you an idea of how the pandemic has affected us, I am just telling you that in 2020 our number of tourists has decreased by 74%, and income has decreased by 81%, » explained the marketing director.
