Several calm demonstrations were organized by the French population, in particular yellow vests, global security, but also actors who stormed the theaters sending a message to the authorities and the government which in these times of epidemic: find solutions to reopen activities, and that they can comply with the sanitary rules imposed.

A group of Toulouse yellow vests, based at the “Fontaine Pierre-Goudouli” (Place Wilson) wrote to the prefect of Haute-Garonne on Friday March 12, 2021, asking him not to ban their demonstrations, and to “clarify the basis on which the Yellow Vests are reprimanded and penalized every Saturday. The state of health emergency authorizes demonstrations of up to 5,000 people (Council of State, June 13, 2020) « , announces La Depeche.

« The police, therefore the officials under your responsibility, chase the Yellow Vests every Saturday and overwhelm them with fines, on the pretext that groups of more than 6 people are prohibited », denounce the Yellow Vests, before comparing these demonstrations to « queues » compact in front of the stores ”,“ which usually form lines of six people ”.

By highlighting the decisions of the Strasbourg Court (ECHR July 17, 2007) and of the Council of State (EC 12 November 1997), which consider that the absence of a prior declaration does not justify the prohibition of this event from as long as there is no risk of disturbances of public order, the yellow vests affirm that « all the demonstrations of the yellow vests in recent weeks have not been the subject of any » disturbance to the public order « .

A new « March of freedoms » took place this Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Toulouse, at 2 pm, place Arnaud Bernard. Associations and unions such as ATTAC, DAL 31, Heure Bleue, LdH Toulouse, Libre Pensée 31, Ensemble 31, SNJ, Toulouse en Luttes, GJ Tlse Fontaine Goudouli, Handi social, NPA31, EELV, Solidaire 31, call to demonstrate once again . In particular, they demand the withdrawal of the Global Security bill in its entirety, and of the bill reinforcing the republican principles known as the « Separatism law ».

The yellow vests celebrate the Paris Commun in Nancy

In Nancy a new demonstration was organized by the yellow vests at 12 noon at Place Simone Veil, with the aim of celebrating the « Paris Commune », a special period in history.

When Germany won the Franco-German war of 1870, some citizens, unhappy with the fate of the territory, decided to come together.

Opposed to the new regime in place, they founded the Paris Commune and fight for a new vision of the capital.

A battle that ends on May 28, 1871, two months after the creation of the movement.

On Saturday, the demonstrators therefore planned to pay tribute to all those who died, were deported or imprisoned during one of the most famous anti-establishment episodes, but also “to commemorate this avant-garde world” proposed by the Paris Commune.

The Yellow Vests of Montreuil: to associate and celebrate the beginning of the town on March 18

The Commune is an insurrectionary period which lasted a little more than two months, from March 18, 1871 to the “Bloody Week” from May 21 to 28, 1871. This insurrection refused to recognize the government resulting from the bourgeois National Assembly, which had just come from ‘to be elected by universal male suffrage, and chooses to experiment for the city with a libertarian organization, based on direct democracy, which will give birth to communalism.

The Yellow Vests of Montreuil are launching a call to associate and celebrate the start of this historic insurrection with the movement of the Yellow Vests which began on November 17, 2018.

On March 18, 2021, long live the Municipality, and long live the Yellow Vests!

On November 17, 2018, we, the little ones, those without rights, the first on duty, put on a yellow vest and occupied roundabouts, squares, plazas, streets… With one word on our backs: justice! Declined in social justice, fiscal justice, ecological justice and, in the head, a crazy hope: direct democracy, by the people and for the people!

Since that day, a rain of freedom-killing laws has descended on us, aimed at stripping us of all means of defense in the face of the absolutism of power.

On March 18, 1871, the little ones, those without rights, the first on duty, took up arms, erected barricades, fraternized with the troops, rose up, to give substance to their dream of … direct democracy, by the people and for the people !

They defended their guns, the only guarantors of their security in the face of arbitrariness and the villainy of the power that wanted to enslave them.

1871-2021, same fight against so-called « emergency » states, which systematically disarm or suppress protest movements.

We, Yellow Vests of Montreuil 93, always thirsty for justice, call on all the Yellow Vests of the Universe to pay homage to all the revolutionaries of yesterday and today, to commemorate the humanist advances of the Council of the Municipality of 1871 and to reiterate our demands of 2018, the main one remaining direct democracy, by the people and for the people!

On March 18, 2021, we resume our roundabouts, our squares, our esplanades, the street! We light our braziers, we party and we continue to fight for a better world!

« Free Senegal » and yellow vests gatherings in Paris

A demonstration by opponents of Senegalese President Macky Sall took place in Republic Square from 1 p.m. It is a static rally, after ten days of heightened tensions in Senegal, at least ten protesters having been killed by police.

As for the yellow vests, they are gathering place Joachim du Bellay, against the health restriction measures decided by the government, from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

About fifteen theaters occupied by demonstrators

Several thousand professionals from the world of culture demonstrated on March 5 in France, without attracting crowds, to once again cry out their fed up and demand the reopening of cultural places, a year after the first closure measures.

In Paris, several people entered the Odeon theater at the end of the event to occupy it. They were still there around 10 p.m. and plan to stay there all night, according to Karine Huet, deputy secretary general of SNAM-CGT, who is one of the « 80 or so people who managed to get inside ».

Occupations are increasing in France to demand the reopening of places of Culture, performance halls, theaters, museums or cinemas.

After several meetings during the week, the intermittents of Loiret finally decided to occupy the Théâtre d’Orléans, this Friday March 12 at the end of the afternoon.

After a week of national demonstrations, three days ago the theaters were stormed by intermittents and actors all over France.

Invited by Europe Soir, Robin Renucci, president of the Association of National Dramatic Centers, and Muriel Mayette-Holtz, Director of the National Theater in Nice, considered that the venues were able to reopen and host public « under the required sanitary conditions ».

The discontent in the cultural world over the restrictions imposed due to the health situation is growing. « Our responsibility as an employer is not to encourage the occupation of our work tools, but we would like to salute the mobilization of the occupants and to support them on all their demands », commented on Saturday, at the microphone for Europe Soir, Robin Renucci actor, director and president of the Association of National Dramatic Centers (ACDN).

« The occupation of theaters is not an end, just a means to be heard, » he explains. He recalls in particular that a protocol for resuming the activity of performance venues, taking into account the epidemic, was presented to the Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot, in early January. « And it has remained a dead letter, » he laments.

« We are deprived of living together the imaginary moments that are necessary today, and especially for young people, » adds Robin Renucci.

On the side of Muriel Mayette-Holtz, director of the National Theater of Nice, who believes that most performance venues are able to accommodate the public taking into account the epidemic situation. « … we saw the Caesar delivery with a masked room, distanced … », she points out, also at the microphone of Europe Soir. « We can open our theaters tomorrow, it is our job to manage the flow, and to manage it under the required sanitary conditions », underlines Muriel Mayette-Holtz. Who sounded the alarm bells at the end of the interview, pointing out:

« Artists are whistleblowers, be careful not to lose the sublime part of ourselves which is culture! », She concludes.
