The name of the personality who will light up the Champs-Élysées in Paris on November 24 has been revealed: it is Tony Estanguet.

A success that the Champs-Élysées Committee wanted to celebrate by appointing Tony Estanguet, great conductor of the Olympic Games, to light up the Champs-Élysées on November 24.

After having kept the Olympic flame alive, the triple medalist and president of Paris 2024 will therefore have the honor of succeeding Gilles Lellouche, Tahar Rahim and Clara Luciani to press the switch of the illuminations followed by 467 million people around the world according to the Champs-Élysées Committee.

At the press conference this Monday, the Champs-Elysées committee shared this message from Tony Estanguet: « I am very happy to be the 2024 sponsor of the Champs-Elysées illuminations and to close this exceptional year in style, together. See you on Sunday, November 24 on the most beautiful avenue in the world to inaugurate these illuminations, and continue to make the world dream. »

The Champs-Élysées committee supports, as it has for the past fifteen years, the Petits Princes association. The latter’s goal is to make the dreams of sick children and adolescents come true.

The Petits Princes association will allow two eight-year-old girls (Ofélia, who comes from Yvelines and Tessa, from Seine-et-Marne) to press the buzzer for the launch of the festivities on the most beautiful avenue in the world, in the presence of the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, Jeanne d’Hauteserre, as well as the sponsor Tony Estanguet and Marc-Antoine Jamet, president of the Committee.

« Paris lights up at every end of the Champs ». The president of the Champs-Élysées committee, Marc-Antoine Jamet, revealed this Monday, October 28, the program of the Illuminations of the Champs-Élysées, in Paris.

The singer Santa, who performed at the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, will be present for the launch where she should perform a song related to the Champs-Élysées. The Band’à Léo, a troupe of 100 musicians, as well as DJ Marine Neuilly are also on the program for this evening. The largest fir tree of 13.5m in Paris will be exhibited on the avenue.

In total, 400 trees will be illuminated with a new twinkle for ecological reasons. The energy consumption of the lights has also decreased by 43% between 2021 and 2023. Note that EDF will sponsor this year’s edition. In addition, the illuminations will not operate all night.

This year, the decorative animations will be able to be observed by the curious for six weeks, from November 24 to January 6, from 5 p.m. to midnight from Sunday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays and all night on December 24 and 31.

On the technical side, as in previous years, the realization was entrusted to Blachère, which relies on a regular rotation of champagne lights, brighter with reminders every hour and half hour.

Last year, 130,000 people were present during these illuminations according to the police headquarters.
