Les Innocents is a French rock group, it was founded in 1982, in Paris, by singer and guitarist Jean-Philippe Nataf, (known as Jipé).

The musical style of the group « Les Innocents » is influenced by Anglo-Saxon pop. But, the two composers of the group, J. P. Nataf and Jean-Christophe Urbain chose to sing in French.

Jean-Philippe Nataf (known as Jipé) founded his first group, Les Privés, before passing his baccalaureate. The name « Les Innocents » was chosen in 1982 as a tribute to the Clashes. The group is made up of Nataf and Bertrand Sansonetti (aka Tramber) on guitar, Rico on bass and Pierre Morin on drums. They perform in Parisian concert halls like Le Gibus and in 1985, they realize Pamela, a self-produced 45 rpm.

In 1986, they signed with Virgin, the record company published the following year, in 1987, their first success, the single Jodie. 150,000 copies of this one will be sold, it ranks 34th in the Top 50. It is followed by Et le temps n’attend pas in 1988. Jean-Christophe Urbain (known as Jean-Chri) joined “Les Innocents” as keyboardist during their visit to the Palace, then replaced Bertrand Sansonetti when he left the group.

They released four studio albums between 1987 and 1999. They obtained the Steel Bus in 1992 and will be awarded four times at the Victoires de la Musique. The album « Fous à lier » was released in 1992, was popularized by the success of the single L’Autre Finistère, the group met with success.

In 1996, they embarked on a national tour and participated in the evening of the Enfoirés.

After their separation, J. P. Nataf began a solo career while Jean-Christophe Urbain composed for other artists.

Nataf and Urbain made their comeback as a duo in 2013, and in March 2015, Les Innocents released the single Les Philharmonies martiennes, followed in June by a new album, titled Mandarine.

On February 12, 2016, the group won the Victoire de la Musique in the Artist category. On December 14, 2018, Apache released the first single from the sixth album released on March 15, 2019, titled 6 ½.

Since 1989, they have released 6 albums, A Best-of in 2003 titled “Best Memories”, 25 Singles and EPs. As well as 4 participations on albums of other singers (his) such as:
« Diversion – Pensando en ti » (adapted from La tête à verse by Mercedes Audras) in 1990;
« As they imagine it »: As I imagine it in 1995 by Véronique Sanson;
« Like a single man » – Duet with Arielle on Doigts;
« Que Marianne was pretty » (cover on the tribute album to Michel Delpech « I was an angel ») in 2016.
