The Women's Elite 1 rugby championship played its 17th matchday on May 10th, with Blagnac and ASM Romagnat ending in a 13-10 draw.

The Women’s Elite 1 rugby championship played its 17th matchday on May 10th, with Blagnac and ASM Romagnat ending in a 13-10 draw.

With the official announcement by the FFR this week of the schedule for the next Women’s Elite Championship final, on May 31st at the Michelin Stadium in Clermont, the ASM players and their coaches have a tough challenge in mind: winning the match against Blagnac and playing in the final against Bordeaux.

To claim home-field advantage in the semifinals, ASM must secure second place at the end of the group stage, which is two matchdays away. And that’s a tough challenge. They travel to Blagnac this Sunday at 1:15 p.m., then host Bobigny on May 18th at 3:00 p.m. in Romagnat.

A defeat that condemns ASM Romagnat to play their semifinal away, possibly away to Bordeaux, the reigning French champion.

In the Women’s Elite 1 Rugby Championship, ASM Romagnat Women’s Rugby suffered a major disappointment this Sunday, losing 13-10 away to Blagnac, a direct contender in the final round, in a match that was within the reach of the Auvergne team.

Stade Bordelais currently dominates the Elite 1 Championship (77 points), far ahead of Blagnac (65 points) and ASM Romagnat (60 points).

The 18th matchday will be held on May 17th and 18th, and the Women’s Elite Championship final will be held on May 31st at the Michelin Stadium in Clermont-Ferrand.
