Béziers is riding an impressive wave of success in recent weeks, with six victories in the last six matches.
Pierre Caillet’s players this time achieved a benchmark success away from home, 19-23 on the Colomiers pitch.
At kick-off, Colomiers was 6th in the standings (35 points). A fragile place in the top 6, Brive (35), Montauban (34), Aurillac (34), Agen (33) and Dax (33) are on the lookout. The Biterrois ranked 2nd. And remained on a (very) solid series of 5 consecutive successes.
Because Colomiers had rather done things in order in this part. By managing to take the lead with a try from Thomas Larrieu and points at the foot of Thomas Girard (10-3, 24th). But opposite, the plan of the Biterrois was clear: stick to the score as long as possible before half-time, hold on when returning from the locker room where the Haut-Garonnais are efficient and finally not miss the opportunity to take control after the hour of play.
With an essay from pillar Jon Zabala responding to the first columérine achievement. Skillful against the poles, Victor Dreuille also responded to Thomas Girard (10-10, 26th, then 13-13 at half-time).
The Portuguese international scrum half guides his troops and allows Charly Malié to complete an offensive after the hour mark with a sharp and victorious run (19-23, 71st). A decisive try even if Béziers must resist 14 against 15 after the yellow card collected by Tupuola (73rd). As Colomiers also showed indiscipline – red card to Granouillet in the 76th minute – the end of this match was played at 14 against 14.
Béziers to preserve this success (19-23). Next week, Colomiers will travel to Soyaux-Angoulême. For its part, Béziers will host Provence Rugby.
