The cauldron
The Olympic cauldron is 37 meters high and has a diameter of 7 meters). It is possible to admire it up close in the Tuileries Gardens, it remains on the ground between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. then rises into the sky (except for weather problems). In the evening, attached, it rises 30 meters into the air. The cauldron, meanwhile, is 30 meters high and its highest point is 60 meters above the ground, which allows for beautiful views of Paris, including the alignment of the Louvre Museum and its Pyramid, the Concorde Obelisk and the Champs Elysées including the Arc de Triomphe.
Designed by designer Matthieu Lehanneur and with the help of EDF, the Olympic cauldron is filled with 40 LED projectors, to which are added 200 high-pressure misting nozzles, thus giving the effect of a flame, without emitting a single gram of carbon into the atmosphere. Matthieu Lehanneur is also the creator of the torch and the cauldron. By creating a flame without fuel, his work is a technical feat.
