Ten years after the November 13, 2015 attacks, France paused to honor the 130 victims and the hundreds of wounded from that tragic night, which shook the nation and left an indelible mark on collective memory.
A Morning of Reflection
From 8:30 AM, official ceremonies began in Saint-Denis, in front of the Stade de France, where the first explosions occurred.
Families of victims, survivors, associations, and officials gathered around the Prime Minister and the Mayor of Paris for a solemn and silent tribute.
A Memory Route Across Paris
The procession then moved to the various sites affected by the attacks:
-
Le Carillon and Le Petit Cambodge in the 10th arrondissement,
-
La Bonne Bière and Le Comptoir Voltaire,
-
La Belle Équipe, rue de Charonne,
-
before concluding in the afternoon at the Bataclan, the tragic symbol of the attacks, where 90 people lost their lives during the Eagles of Death Metal concert.
At each site, the victims’ names were read aloud, families laid flowers, and a minute of silence was observed.
A Collective and Silent Tribute
The day ended at the Jardin du 13 Novembre, a symbolic place dedicated to memory and resilience. Ten years on, the emotion remains strong, shared between grief and hope, memory and transmission.
This commemoration underlines the importance of remembrance and national unity in the face of barbarism.
Even today, France remembers: “We will never forget.”
