They came, they are all there, as soon as they heard ... that he was going to sing at the Trois Baudets.

They came, they are all there, as soon as they heard … that he was going to sing at the Trois Baudets.

On this happy evening of October 10, 2024, the legendary concert hall in the heart of Pigalle was packed. People came to discover or see again the singer Lionel Langlais.

The audience was not disappointed. An excellent show, cheerful and dynamic.

He bursts onto the stage like a featherweight boxer, arms raised, exultant, triumphant.

Very quickly, we feel good, close to this artist who, with his charming smile, between each song, speaks to you, as to a friend, of the chance encounters.

From his person emerges a joy, an enthusiasm – etymologically “to have the divine breath in oneself” – a whole communicative gaiety.

He is “luminous”, says his lyricist Quentin Lamotta, a very talented author and novelist. His stage presence is intense, coupled with a gentleness and explosive exuberance.

With “L’amour enfin”, he makes the whole room sing, which wholeheartedly joins in “lalalala …”

Lionel defines himself as “a human being who sings, someone who talks on stage about life, love, fear, anger”.
We think of Jacques Brel, Pierre Bachelet, who, in the street, was sometimes mistaken for Brel.

He is accompanied by fabulous dancers who, doing “des pieds des mains” (title of one of his songs), offer us a prodigious breakdance performance with the funny facial expressions of one of them who twists his face in an incredible way.

Lionel, during this magical evening, you offered us pearls of rain from countries where it doesn’t rain.

You took us to the ends of the earth, to wonderland, to other places, other shores…

“A great artist is first of all someone who you feel carries something strange, something that makes him a little foreign to us”, believes Quentin Lamotta.
… For me too it’s certain, he is from elsewhere.

The talents that surround him: Quentin Lamotta for his lyrics, Lionel Gaillardin for his arrangements, Yohann Hebi Daher for his clips, his editor Michaël Larcange.
