A huge hot air balloon, which it will be possible to see up close, but be careful, you have to plan in advance.
This Friday evening the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are officially open, and the Olympic cauldron lit by Marie-José Pérec and Teddy Riner.
Everyone can come and admire the Olympic fire at the Tuileries Garden. However, access to the cauldron, although free, will not be completely free.
To access the flame, you must register on the Paris 2024 platform. A new, free ticket office will regulate the flow of visitors at the foot of the hot air balloon. Registration will allow you to obtain a QR Code as well as an entry slot in the Tuileries Garden. Some 300 entries every quarter of an hour, for a total capacity of 3,000 people simultaneously.
The Olympic hot air balloon will not stay in the Paris sky 24/7. It will be hoisted to a height of more than 60 meters every evening between sunset and 2 a.m. It will then be possible for everyone to admire the flame in the sky above the Tuileries. For the rest of the day, the cauldron will be on the ground, and access open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to get as close as possible.
The official cauldron of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be lit and accessible to the public throughout the competition period, from July 27 to August 10.
