A child who didn’t know what he was going to do in life, seeing as his father was a dock worker, looked at the universe for an answer that gave him an opening in the cultural world.
The first open door was to become an actor, where he took his first steps in the theater, then acted as an actor in dozens of films, but also in television series, until he managed to find the enigma of which the stars spoke, who was to become a painter.
After the cinema, the theater … he finally transposed his emotions no longer on a white cinema screen, but on canvases. Jean Dolande became a French painter, living in Paris. He travels regularly to Asia, Dubai, the United States and Europe to feel the world.
But who is Jean DOLANDE and what are the riddles of his universe?
Jean DOLANDE was born in Rouen on December 29, 1959, in the city where Joan of Arc was burned on the stake. In his youth, Jean DOLANDE went to acting school at Actors Studio where he had actor Jack Waltzer as his teacher.
Having a real actor as a teacher, Jean DOLANDE succeeded in discovering the world of cinema and television, thanks to Jack Waltzer, each class shed light on the enigmas discovered by the stars in his childhood. This is how the actor Jean DOLANDE began to take his first steps in theater and cinematography, giving life to the scenario of his acting career, which he abandoned in 1994 to devote himself to the fine arts.
In his film career, Jean DOLANDE starred in 9 films, but the last role had a great impact on the actor, “Le Dénommé” by Jean-Claude Dague, an everyday reality, a synopsis that highlights life family, a devoted father, but also economic social life.
Jean DOLANE, plays the role of a small business manager who commits a robbery and is sentenced to eight years of criminal imprisonment. It becomes a registration number. He finds himself in the terrifying universe of the prison environment where man is not treated as a man, inevitably he becomes a beast or a thug, years that become a nightmare, but also where he understands that an ordinary person is guilty no matter what does in society.
In 1990, he discovered the fifth meaning of art, painting, a point of emotion from which each artist exposes and nourishes any soul thirsty for art.
From where he exhibits the art he intensely lives spending hours in a row, living in the studio in front of a white screen, as the artist calls it, each painting exposes my cinematic past, imagining that it is a film where I discover the point of art.
What made you decide to become a painter?
Before being a painter, I was an actor, in my job I learned to express sensitivity, … cinema, theater, … I understood that I can transmit sensitivity not only on a white screen to the cinema or in a theater, and on a canvas, from which everyone can nourish their soul.
Can the universe of an artist rekindle his emotion?
I am a seeker of emotions, I have experimented with speech, then the gesture of mime; I wanted to transpose the same emotion on the canvas. The privilege of not depending on anyone, of being alone with my canvas, the freedom to go as far as I want, without restriction, and with all the intensity I aspire. Like the canvas I made with 9mm and 32mm cartridges, blue, white and red, that I will give to Eric Zemmour.
The emotion is pure, ultimate and vibrant and allows you to approach a truth, it projects you beyond yourself: it embellishes all those who
are touched by his grace.
Colors have a vibrational impact on each of us and allow us to reset our energies. Imagine life as a system composed of multiple and infinite vibrations among which human beings act as transmitters, receivers of
vibrations.
For example, red is an extremely popular color in China, Chinese people love my paintings, because of the red colors which represent happiness and prosperity. In March 2013, I was awarded in SHANGHAI, “The Most Influential Foreign Artist in China”, with the “Award of Art China”. I really like Asia, China is like my country, I feel more Chinese than them, in fact I should have been in China today, but because of the health crisis I am in Paris, j ‘hopes to leave in September.
