Grichka Bogdanoff died at Georges Pompidou hospital (Paris) on December 28 from Covid-19, according to information given by his family. He was 72 years old. Her twin Igor would also be hospitalized.
Grichka and her twin Igor Bogdanoff were famous for the “Temps X” television show they presented between April 1979 and June 1987. Everyone remembers their journeys in a spaceship and their futuristic suits.
If the monthly magazine stopped in 1982 for one year and replaced by “2002, Odyssey of the Future”, it resumed in 1983 as a weekly.
For 60 minutes, it offered one week out of two reports and the other a series of science fiction. It is thanks to Temps X “and the Bogdanoff brothers that we were able to discover the series:” The 4th dimension “,” Beyond the real “,” Cosmos 1999 “,” The Prisoner “,” Astrolab 22 “and “Galactica”
Childhood and studies
Of Russian origin, the Bogdanoff twins were born in 1949 in the Gers in France. Their father was a painter. they are both passionate about helicopters and airplanes. The 2 brothers have studied very extensively. Igor has a DEA in semiology and a doctorate in theoretical physics. Grichka, meanwhile, graduated from Sciences-Po and has a doctorate in mathematics. In 1990, the twins decided to dedicate themselves to a doctorate in primordial cosmology.
The Bogdanoff career begins on A2 with “One in Five”. They hold the “science fiction” section in Patrice Laffont’s program. In 1976, the need to communicate pushes Grichka to contact TF1. Yves Mourousi then offers the 2 brothers to host a sequence devoted to robots and aliens. It was also an opportunity for them to present their book “Keys to science fiction” .. These opportunities will lead in 1979 to “Temps X”.
The Bogdanoffs and science
Passionate about science and the sensational, they develop in their programs, subjects that are close to their hearts such as UFOs, the theory of ancient astronauts, extraterrestrial life or fantastic archeology. In futurology, they evoke from the first broadcasts, the Internet Configuration Control Board (ICCB) and the creation of a global network that they call “Internex”.
In 2002, following a worldwide controversy, the “Bogdanoff Affair” erupted. It is based on an accusation by the physicist Max Niedermaier about the doctorate of the Bogdanoff brothers. He accuses them of having obtained their doctorate on the basis of hoaxes similar to the Sokal Affair. Following this, Igor and Grichka sue the CNRS and the magazine “Ciel & Espace. Unfortunately, they are dismissed and ordered to pay the costs. In another case, the physicist who had criticized the validity of their thesis, is condemned for violation copyright.
The other emissions
From 2007, they chained many shows: including a special evening for the launch of the series “Century City” on Sci-Fi. In 2008, they started the “Science-X” series which ended at the end of December and came back renamed “Science 2” between March and June 2009.
From 2010 and until January 2011, they present a series of 5 documentaries, entitled “A 2 pas du Futur”. They then appear in “Fort Boyard” in 2015 and 2016, since 2015 have participated in the “Big Heads” hosted by Laurent Ruquier on RTL then in 2017 will be scientific columnists in TPMP. Their last performance is in “Mask Singers,” (2), in 2020, where they are disguised as a parrot.
Private life
Unlike his brother, 3 times married and father of 6 children, Grichka Bogdanoff was not married and had no children.
Regarding the mystery of their faces, many believed it was cosmetic surgery to look like aliens. It was not the case, they gave the explanation. It seems that the 2 brothers are suffering from acromegaly, linked to experiments on radiation. More or less penetrating wavelengths cause interference.
Hospitalized on December 15 at the Georges Pompidou hospital in Paris, the Bogdanoff brothers were accepted in the intensive care unit, after having contracted the Covid-19. Sadly, the youngest of the twins, born 40 minutes after his brother, has passed away.
