A Magical Christmas at the Racecourse: When the Spirit of the Holidays Meets Trot Racing Champions

Christmas at the racecourse – mini horses and Santa Claus

Noël à Vincennes n'oublie pas son ADN hippique

Free entertainment, a Christmas village, mini horses and top-level trotting races: the racecourse celebrates December in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.

In December, the racecourse is transformed into a true Christmas village, combining family-friendly entertainment, winter treats and top-level sporting excitement. On Sundays, December 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2025, the public is invited to enjoy a month of festive celebrations, with a programme designed for both children and adults.

From the moment visitors arrive, the setting sets the tone: seasonal decorations, sweet and savoury aromas, and the joyful sound of brass bands. The atmosphere is warm and timeless, with each Sunday offering its own special touch—like a series of magical interludes leading up to Christmas.

The Mini-Horse Village, the Heart of Christmas Magic

On the first three Sundays, Santa Claus settles at the centre of his village, surrounded by mini horses and his elves. Children can post their letters in Santa’s official mailbox, leave with a souvenir photo, and above all enjoy a truly magical moment, punctuated by musical parades and Santa’s arrival on the track to the applause of the crowd.

Smiles, wide eyes and a palpable sense of anticipation are a reminder that the magic of Christmas is also experienced outdoors, close to the animals and the festivities.

The Elves’ School: Discovering Ponies in a New Way

On Sunday, December 28, 2025, the spotlight turns to the Elves’ School, a space entirely dedicated to introducing children to the world of ponies, at their own height. Through playful and educational workshops, young visitors learn while having fun:

  • pony sitting,

  • pony beauty (grooming and mane care),

  • an introduction to the role of a junior veterinarian,

  • pony snack time.

A gentle and educational immersion into the equestrian world, combining observation, hands-on interaction and respect for the animal.

Free Entertainment Throughout the Day

Throughout these festive Sundays, a wide range of free, ongoing activities enhance the experience:

  • pony rides for a first introduction to horse riding,

  • a traditional-style horse carousel,

  • meet-and-greet sessions with the mascot Troty for souvenir photos,

  • a virtual reality sulky-driving simulation,

  • a photo-call “Be the Champion of the Day” to step into the shoes of a professional driver.

When Festive Magic Meets Top-Level Sport

Christmas at the racecourse is not just about fairy lights and decorations. December also marks the highlight of the Winter Meeting. Each Sunday, more than 120 horses take to the track for a programme of nine races, in an atmosphere where sporting passion blends seamlessly with the holiday spirit.

The stands come alive at each start, especially during the qualifying races for the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race and the Prix de Cornulier, two major events on the international trotting calendar. It is the perfect opportunity to introduce a wider audience to the intensity and elegance of harness racing.

Gourmet Breaks and Panoramic Views

Between races and activities, the Gourmet Village offers a welcoming break with winter favourites such as mulled wine, waffles, crêpes, white pudding, foie gras burgers and sweets. The aromas alone are enough to evoke the simple pleasures of the festive season.

For a more refined experience, the panoramic restaurant welcomes visitors with elegant cuisine and uninterrupted views of the track, extending the day in a privileged setting.

Sporting Highlights

On the track, performances lived up to expectations:

  • Prix de Briare: victory for Jean-Michel Bazire, driver, winner of the Quinté aboard Jobspost.

  • Prix de Vincennes: Damien Bonne claimed first place with Moustik La Govelle.
