Champs Elysees: dressed in the light by Karl Lagerfeld

For the 38th edition of the Illuminations Champs-Elysees, a new atmosphere called “Flamboyance” sees the famous avenue adorned with red lights. The 2.2 kilometers of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in Paris, were illuminated tonight.

Selected as godfather of the Illuminations, Karl Lagerfeld lit the avenue alongside Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, and Jean-Noël Reinhardt, President of the Committee Champs-Elysees, “an event that allows Paris to keep the reputation of City Light, the Champs-Elysees illustrating this title of glory like no other place of the City of Light “.

Scheduled to last until January 9, the illuminations of the Champs-Elysees will ignite the avenue of a red coat of the Concorde at the Arc de Triomphe, white and bluish flashes sparkling in the trees. The 2.2 kilometers of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, in Paris, were illuminated tonight.

Nearly 500,000 walkers are invited to walk on the Champs-Elysées to admire this light show created by the company Blachere illumination, visible until January 9, 2019 inclusive, between 17h and 2h in the morning, and all night 24 and December 31st.
