Championship 2025: Toulouse, leaders of the table, maintains its position

On Saturday, May 24, the 11th day of the Betfred Championship will be played between Toulouse Olympique XIII and Barrow Raiders.

The match got off to a bad start for Toulouse Olympique. The first 30 minutes were dominated by the visitors, led by winger Andrew Bulman, who scored twice. Barrow then took a 12-0 lead.

Barrow took a 12-0 lead, but like last year when they led 16-0, they were unable to add more points to the scoreboard.

Barrow took the lead early on when the TO team lost control of the ball in their penalty area. From the scrum, Barrow moved the ball sharply along the line, allowing Creswell to loop a pass to Andrew Bulman, who took off and dived into the corner. Brad Walker made no mistake with his 0-6 conversion attempt.

At the other end, Barrow were denied another try when captain Jarrad Stack was held up on the line.

Fullback Ashall-Bolt was always threatening with his quick runs, which Barrow struggled to cope with.

TO was surprised midway through the first half when Walker launched an attack that sent Charlie Emslie deep. Creswell supported him, and Bulman scored in the corner for Walker to convert the score to 0-12.

Within minutes, Toulouse Olympique opened their account when space opened up for Ashall-Bolt to score for Shorrocks, making it 6-12 at halftime.

Toulouse Olympique recovered in the second half. In the 54th minute, Benjamin Laguerre slipped inside his marker to score from close range, making it 10-12.

Toulouse then accelerated with a solid play that took the lead nine minutes later when Reubenn Rennie broke through from five meters out, with Shorrocks adding the goal to make it 16-12.

The lead was increased when Romeo Tropis galloped down the wing to dive over a late Bulman tackle, with Shorrocks’ kick making it 22-12.

A free kick on the line bounced off the posts, eluding Creswell and allowing Paolo Dall’Asta to score. Shorrocks added the goal and rounded off the scoring with a penalty awarded by Walker, who sent the ball into his own posts, making it 30-12.

Toulouse Olympique maintains their lead after this eighth win of the season.

Barrow now prepares for the visit of Featherstone next Sunday.
Next stop: Toulouse travels to Batley before hosting the London Broncos on June 15 at the Ernest-Wallon Stadium.
