While a 46th president has just been elected in the United States, the 2nd arrondissement of Paris is getting into Californian time. Two sisters in love with the American West, have decided to dedicate a place of character to the Los Angeles art of living. “We would never have embarked on this project with someone else,” admits Capucine. We are very family, very united, we have the same tastes, the same desires, we go on vacation together with our gangs. We love to share our addresses, we always look for the best place, the best atmosphere and above all the best products. From the start, we had the same vision of the project, each one brings their know-how, everything is simple and fluid between us ”they confided to Gastronomico.

Between a giant palm tree, cactus, XXL canopy and rattan seats, Cali Sisters is the feel good place par excellence. In this informal space of more than 300m², relaxed combining vintage and friendly, imagined with Heather Tierney, founder of Butcher’s Daughter addresses in Los Angeles and New York, Capucine and Juliette Vigand offer eclectic, healthy and generous cuisine prepared with Chef Rhys Allen, whether for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, always made from fresh local and seasonal produce with a strong emphasis on vegetables. “Everything here is beautiful, good, feel good and inspiring” they explain. In short, they revisit all the sweet and savory Californian classics, some of which, in this period of re-confinement, are to be delivered at home via the Cali To Go.

Capucine and Juliette Vigand thus demonstrate that made in the USA is not just about burgers, crispy onions and cola, and that it can be a delicate, generous and inspiring cuisine.
