Jean-Christian Kipp is a war correspondent, adventurer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. An adventurer since the 1980s, he has taken part in numerous expeditions around the world. He later volunteered as a humanitarian in war zones before becoming a reporter, covering, among others, the Soviet–Afghan War (1985–1989), the final days of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia (1993), the emergence of the Taliban movement (1994), as well as the Syrian (2020), Ukrainian (2022), Armenian (2023), and Georgian (2024) conflicts. He is a regular contributor to the geopolitical journal Politique Internationale. As an entrepreneur, Jean-Christian Kipp has founded around ten companies, primarily in the healthcare sector. The sale of these companies in 2020 enabled the creation of the Odysseus Fund, ensuring its full independence. The fund’s mission is to promote freedom in all its forms. He is also Vice-President of the French Explorers Society.
