This week, the mobilization against the health pass and compulsory vaccination was down. With more than 175,500 demonstrators across France against 215,845 last week, participation was still strong.
For this 6th day of demonstration, we totaled 220 processions across the country. The participants want to put pressure on the government. In addition, a new theme has been added to the main demands: the defense of Didier Raoult.
Indeed, the Mediterranean Infection Hospital-University Institute (IHU) is pushing the epidemiologist towards the exit, although he is the creator. For many, his positions on hydroxychloroqine and mass vaccination, would be the cause.
Parisian events
In Paris, there were nearly 15,000 people gathered in the 4 processions including 2 at the initiative of the Yellow Vests. The president of the “Patriots”, Florian Philippot had organized the other big parade. Finally, the “Paris pour la Liberté” Collective was at the head of the 4th movement.
A large security force was deployed to frame the 4 parades.
Place de Fontenoy- Bercy event
The first meeting, like the yellow vests, was place de Fontenoy (75007). The procession left around 1 p.m. in the direction of the Place du Bataillon du Pacifique (75012).
This demonstration was attached to the group “Cortégiens yellow vests, Women yellow vests, Parisians suburban and resistant”, Maxime Nicolle or Jerome Rodriguez are often present.
Stock exchange-Senate demonstration
Second meeting “Yellow Vests at the call of Sébastien Philippart and Marie-Charlotte Vaudolon. The latter were already the instigators of the parade of August 14, also starting from the Place de la Bourse. The rally without a political label started from the foot of AFP to get to Place Edmond Rostand, near the Senate. According to Marie-Charlotte Vaudalon, “They (AFP) are collaborators of the tyrannical system set up by the Elysian puppet”.
The procession started at 3 p.m.
Demonstration of the “Patriots”
For the 40th week, the “Patriots” marched in a calm atmosphere, chanting “Liberty, Liberty!”, “Macron resignation!”, “Macron your pass, we don’t want it!”
For the first time, this week, we could read messages of support for Professor Raoult. The director general of Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Marseille does not wish to renew the 69-year-old infectious disease specialist as head of IHU Méditerranée Infection. Florian Philippot, boss of the Patriots, launched the hashtag #TouchePasARaoult on social networks following this. From now on, we find these signs in the parades of Paris, Marseille or Montpellier.
In his speech, the president of the “Patriots” added: “They shamefully want to oust him!” … he also invited the demonstrators to a forthcoming united rally on August 28th.
Collective event “Paris for Freedom”
The procession left at 2:30 p.m. in the direction of the Luxembourg Gardens (75006). He joined the Carrousel du Louvre then the Pont Neuf to the Senate.
“Paris Pour la Liberté” brings together people from several groups and associations committed against the management of the health crisis by the government. The first gathering took place on March 20, 2021 in Châtelet, place du Bellay. The fountain of the Innocents is the essential meeting place for defenders of freedoms. The collective’s goal is to organize peaceful, legal and regular rallies and marches to demand an end to the state of emergency and the Health Pass.
On August 28, a march will take place from Place Denfert Rochereau to the Ministry of Health. The goal is to stop the application of the health PASS, the vaccination obligation, the anti-democratic state of health emergency.
Events in the provinces
Paris was not alone in demonstrating against the health pass. It is still in the south-east of the country, that the processions were the most provided despite a drop in attendance. There were 6,000 people in Toulon, 9,500 in Montpellier where clashes broke out between members of the Ligue du Midi and anti-fascist activists, causing injuries and some arrests. In Strasbourg? 3,500, 3,400 in Bordeaux and Toulouse, 3,200 in Lille including firefighters and caregivers. There were also 3,000 demonstrators in Bayonne, 2,500 in Nice and Lyon where the CRS intervened, 2,300 in Nantes or 2,000 in Caen, as well as 1,800 in Nancy.
In Marseille, the crowd was very large to support Professor Raoult. They were gathered in front of the University Hospital Institute for Infectious Diseases headed by the infectious disease specialist. In the crowd, we could hear the Marseillaise.
The signs
Apart from the usual signs and those in support of Professor Raoult, there were still provocative slogans with a Nazi tendency, just like last week. Prefect Lallement also denounced this kind of comparison.
This week, we could still read in the processions “Who?”, A code to attribute responsibility for the health crisis to the Jewish community. Others meant “Who? Satan !!”. In Toulouse, the faces of Jacques Attali and Claude Posternak, communicator and member of the political office of LREM, accompanied the message.
Another anti-Semitic message: “Cassandre is right !, in reference to Cassandre Fristot, teacher, former member of the National Front, who will be tried on September 8 for having held up an anti-Semitic sign in Metz at the beginning of August, listing several Jewish personalities around the issue “but who ?”
