60 years of development of cultural and economic exchanges between France and China and a new chapter of political exchanges.
Nearly 250 people – including Chinese and French government officials, representatives of United Nations agencies and international organizations, heads of major international media and think tanks, as well as personalities from the cultural and economic circles of the two countries participated in the forum.
Eric Alauzet, president of the France-China friendship group of the French National Assembly, indicated in his speech that China and France can boast a unique history. “France and China can boast a unique history,” declared the president of the France-China friendship group of the French National Assembly, Eric Alauzet, present at the forum, recalling that “the establishment of dialogue “diplomatic work was sometimes carried out against the logic which then animated the main Western powers.” China and France represent “two extremely rich cultures, which arouse mutual admiration”, affirmed Mr. Alauzet, who said he was “fascinated and penetrated by Taoism which has nourished (…) the conduct of my life personal and my political reflection”.
Fu Hua, president of the Xinhua news agency, indicated in his speech that this forum is a major human and cultural exchange event organized on the occasion of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to France. Looking to the future, jointly adhering to the civilization concept of equality, mutual inspiration, dialogue and inclusion, Xinhua News Agency is willing to work with institutions such as think tanks of Chinese and French media to vigorously promote the common values of all mankind, jointly present the results of Sino-French cooperation in various fields, and present the glamor of cultures and unique highlights of modern civilizations of the two countries.
During the forum, a photo exhibition on the 60 years of friendly relations between China and France was launched at the joint initiative of the Xinhua News Agency and Agence France-Presse, each of which contributed their photos of archives.
Co-sponsored by the Xinhua Agency, the Chinese Embassy in France and the Publicis Groupe, including Chinese and French officials, representatives of UN agencies and international organizations, heads of major international media and groups of reflection, as well as personalities from the cultural and economic circles of the two countries.
